The Roseate Spoonbill looks like it came straight out of a Dr. Seuss book with its bright pink feathers, red eye staring out from a partly bald head, and giant spoon-shaped bill. Groups sweep their spoonbills through shallow fresh or salt waters snapping up crustaceans and fish. These social birds nest and roost in trees and shrubs with other large wading birds. They are at risk to entanglement in recreational fishing lines. Each bracelet is made from 100% salvaged fishing rope and lines.
They fly with necks outstretched, to and from foraging and nesting areas along the coastal southeastern U.S., and south to South America.
In support of our local community, each spoonbill bracelet comes with the spoonbill charm supporting Keep Pinellas Beautiful. The mission of Keep Pinellas Beautiful is to conserve and beautify our natural environment by means of community engagement and education. Keep Pinellas Beautiful’s efforts are the cornerstone for community revitalization, conservation and economic development.
